Thanks to all the teams who participated in our tournament . There were over 100 teams in all and 300 plus games played. Our gyms saw a lot of great basketball games take place this past weekend. We would like to thank all of the teams, the players, parents and friends who made this tournament such a success. Our volunteer staff was very impressed with the the good sportsmanship displayed by all the towns that participated in the tournament. Thanks for allowing us to be your host for the weekend and best of luck in your upcoming travel seasons.
Finally, a special thanks to the Hardwood Club members, our girls and boys players who manned the scorers tables all weekends, MYB volunteers, our High School coaches, our travel coaches, our sponsors, and all the parents and students who volunteered their time this weekend. You made this tournament a great success and we thank you.

Attached is the schedule for the Marshfield Hardwood Club’s 2009 tournament. Please keep in mind that there may be modifications to the schedule (last year there were a few adjustments made after the first posting). We will email the impacted coaches regarding any change. It is very important, however, that you re-check the schedule on the website Wednesday night to ensure there have been no changes. (sometimes emails get missed, so please remember to perform this final check). In conjunction with Plymouth Rock, we have approximately 100 teams participating and will be playing over 300 games this coming weekend. Good luck to all and if you have any issues let us know.
Thanksgiving Tournament - 2009
Welcome to our second annual Thanksgiving Youth Basketball tournament. Last year we had 60+ teams participate and it was a terrific three day event for all involved. Click the link for some post tournament feedback we received:
We will work hard again to make this a well-run family oriented tournament. Unlike some of the multiplex tournaments, all our games will be played in individual full size gyms. Players won't be distracted by referees' whistles blowing on adjacent courts. We will take care of the book and scorers table functions for all games, so all parents can enjoy the game. Games will be scheduled so you have no more than a two game wait between your games. All our referees are fully Board Certified.
Last year, a few teams called us in distress because the tournament they had registered for called them a few days prior to Thanksgiving, informing them their bracket was cancelled tor lack of participation. Thankfully, we were able to accomodate these teams. We have minimized the chance of this happening to us because we have a partnership arrangement with Plymouth Rock Courts (10 minutes away) who is also running a Thanksgiving tournament, whereby we assist each other with overflow or underflow as needed for a particular bracket in our respective tournaments.
This tournament is the major fundraiser of the Marshfield Hardwood Club and all of our proceeds support the High School basketball program. You will see many of our HS players and parents assisting either at the concessions, admissions, or scorers table during the tournament.
